Bolt Builds designed, fabricated, and built the interior for Mimi’s Froyo, transforming a narrow Manhattan storefront into a warm, highly immersive self-serve frozen yogurt experience. Guided by the idea of continuous flow, the project uses curvature, materiality, and lighting to create a space that feels both playful and refined.

A defining feature of the interior is the custom barrel-vaulted ceiling clad in white oak veneer, which extends through the space as a continuous architectural gesture. The sweeping form blurs the distinction between ceiling, arch, and millwork, shaping movement through the compact footprint while creating a strong sense of rhythm and immersion.

At the center of the space, a custom serpentine banquette fabricated in-house introduces softness and warmth through tufted cognac leather seating and hand-laid terracotta tile. In contrast, a sculptural stainless steel service counter follows the curvature of the room, integrating the self-serve froyo machines into a clean, seamless composition.

A backlit glass block wall anchors the entry sequence, casting a warm glow across the lounge area and reinforcing the project’s retro-modern character. Translucent ceiling panels diffuse light evenly throughout the interior, softening the atmosphere and enhancing the perception of space.

Bolt managed the project through every phase, including design, permitting, fabrication, construction, and final installation. The result is a cohesive retail environment where architecture, millwork, lighting, and material transitions work together as one unified experience.
