Assistant Project Manager

February 4, 2026

About Bolt

Bolt is a full-service Design + Build firm and fully insured General Contractor based in Brooklyn. We specialize in design-forward hospitality, retail, and residential projects that merge classical sensibility with innovative construction and fabrication methods. We believe that great design is only as strong as its execution — and that means being just as rigorous about budgets, schedules, and communication as we are about creative vision.

The Role

Bolt is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support construction operations across hospitality, retail, and residential projects. This is an ideal role for someone early-to-mid career who is eager to grow within a design-build environment and learn the full lifecycle of a project — from preconstruction through closeout.

You’ll work closely with Construction Project Managers, Designers, and site teams to help keep projects on track, on budget, and well-coordinated. This role blends office-based coordination with regular site involvement and is well-suited for someone highly organized, proactive, and ready to take ownership of details.

What You’ll Do

  • Support Senior Project Managers with budget tracking, cost coding, and invoice review
  • Assist in maintaining project schedules, updating timelines and flagging potential conflicts or delays
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth day-to-day project execution
  • Help prepare bid packages, review subcontractor proposals, and assist with bid leveling
  • Track and document change orders, RFIs, and submittals
  • Maintain organized project files, meeting notes, and documentation across active jobs
  • Participate in site visits, punch walks, and inspections as needed
  • Assist with permitting coordination and inspections (DOB, FDNY, etc.) under PM guidance
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Support continuous improvement of Bolt’s project management systems and workflows

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–5 years of experience in construction or project management, ideally within a design-build, GC, or interiors-focused firm
  • Strong interest in construction operations, scheduling, and cost management
  • Familiarity with construction drawings and basic building systems
  • Proficiency (or willingness to learn quickly) in tools such as Bluebeam, Excel, and project management software
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to ask questions and learn from senior team members
  • Interest in growing into a full Project Manager role over time

Why Bolt

  • See your work built — and built fast. At Bolt, you won’t be stuck pushing paper for years before seeing results. Our projects move quickly, and the work you put in becomes something real, tangible, and lasting.
  • Be hands-on. You won’t be siloed behind a screen — you’ll be in the field, in meetings, on walk-throughs, and fully involved in the process from start to finish.
  • Work in the heart of Greenpoint. Our studio is based in one of Brooklyn’s most creative neighborhoods — surrounded by great food, inspiring spaces, and a thriving design community.
  • Join a company on the rise. Bolt is entering a new chapter of growth — and we’re building something special. You’ll help shape the future of the company, not just execute the present.
  • Build projects you’re proud of. From thoughtful restaurants to bold retail environments, you’ll be part of a team that sweats the details and cares deeply about design, craft, and execution.
  • Work with good people. We’re a tight-knit, driven team that takes pride in what we do — and has fun doing it. We value trust, accountability, and creative problem-solving.

Compensation

This is a full-time, in-person role based in our Greenpoint, Brooklyn studio.

The base salary range for this position is $65,000–$80,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Bolt also offers performance-based bonus opportunities and clear pathways for advancement into a Project Manager role.
